How do you use social media?
I carve time out to use social media. I still remember when Facebook was simply a status update of- ‘I’m feeling happy because it’s Friday and it’s sunny outside.’
Now social platforms have become our own personal photo albums, which is great but I often struggle balancing content creation between TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter. Not to mention there’s new apps coming out on the daily.
But as a writer we are expected to be on these media’s. So good on Stephen King that he’s only really on Twitter (the author platform.)
So here’s a run down of what I attempt at keeping up to date:
Instagram is photos of me and my books travels.
Facebook is random memes about writing and occasional full written blurb about a book signing or chapter write up, kinda random now that I try to think of an actual explanation.
TikTok is goofy videos of me and travel videos of my book.
Twitter, or X, is random one sentence thoughts I post sometimes I think that single thought will go viral but then look at it later and realize I was maybe high on life at the time of thinking I was that wise.
Goodreads are the books I’ve read, my thoughts on said books and books I want to read.
YouTube has posts of my poetry reading through contests I’ve won.
LinkedIn is my professional platform that I often fail at posting on because I struggle to be professional at the best of times 🤪
But all these things I do for the $9 royalty cheque are worth it 🤗
Stay tuned,
