I drink Lychee flavoured Korean Soju (vodka.)

A few things to note here;

1) many authors over history have fallen to alcoholism just as rappers fall to prescriptions, we feel it opens our creativity and I’m one to blame as well. I absolutely crack open a bottle or grab a doobie when I feel I need the extra boost of creativity.

2) many artists have lived to debunk the fact we NEED a substance to tap into our creativity. Some, unfortunately have not survived before learning this truth and they never got the chance at finding the proper balance to their life

3) many people that suffer anxiety don’t realize that BENZOS and ALCOHOL will kill you near instantly. So if you’re gonna have a drink tonight, skip the Ativan and go for deep breathing instead friends 🩷

I’ve fallen to addiction, recovered, slipped, recovered, then socially partook. Then I timed a solid year of flat sobriety. And I mean flat. No alcohol, no marijuana, no nicotine, no prescriptions and my PTSD, super anxiety and possibly autistic ass can tell you, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. I struggled and suffered and yea I got thru it but in retrospect, there was no harm to me taking a Friday night bubble bath with a glass of sake (ya I prefer Asian drinks.) yet I took the full year becuase I wanted to know, I had to learn for myself.

So number

4) sobriety is overrated

Because life is all about balance, just like dieticians tell you to have a ‘free eat day’ during a diet, or have a candy bar while you’re quitting sugar.

At the end of everything, mental health is paramount and if you need that Ativan to slow the over worry, just remember to skip the glass of sake.

Bottoms up,
