Some say jack of all trades means a master of none, so what does that say about having numerous projects on the go at one time?

It’s hard, to stay focused and commited on one thing. So I start a new project because it’s new and fun and exciting! But then I sometimes have to go back to the beginning of my original project to recall where I was, what I was writing and why I stopped in the first place.

I make outlines as I’m writing to keep track of the storyline, but sometimes it’s better when I’m derailed and have to reread from the beginning. Maybe my last project gave me some new ideas, maybe I was getting bored and angry at my story and having a break has brought back the excitement.

Or sometimes it wasn’t meant to be at all and it gets tabled for a completely new story, and the thrill of writing returns all over again.

I’m often distracted by contests and poetry that sing to my heart. So I take pause, redirect my creative mind and find a renewed love for the art of words.

I eventually come back to all projects.

So nothing is wasted.

So even if you feel your story isnt going anywhere, or the poem isn’t rhyming how you’d like it to, table the bastard because one day, you’ll return and make a it a beauty.

Keep creative,

Norma Rrae
